The need for action.
Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia, the world’s largest island country and the fourth-most populous nation with around 270 million people. Of these, there are about 26.5 million people who are still living below the poverty line today, which may worsen as the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented shocks. Beyond poverty, several issues remain for women and children in Indonesia: chronic malnutrition impairs children’s cognitive and physical development, childbirth is still dangerous for mothers, and the quality of education remains lacking, among many other issues. Despite the government’s best efforts in tackling these problems, unreached communities and pockets of disparity remain.
BantuYuk! aims to aid the government’s efforts by launching targeted help for the women and children in our local communities. By sharpening our focus, we are able to create meaningful impact for the communities which need our help most. We believe that by lending a helping hand to others in need, we can create a better Indonesia for all of us to live in. So come, BantuYuk! and join us in our efforts to lend others a helping hand.
